Hydroxypinacolone retinoate – HPR 0.2%
An advanced and proven effective form of vitamin A, synthesized from retinoic acid and a small molecule pinacol. Retinoids (Retinol, Retinaldehyde, Retinyl esters) undergo several metabolic transformations upon application, entering our skin until they reach their biologically active form – retinoic acid. Regardless of the retinoid applied, it must be converted to retinoic acid to be absorbed by the skin. HPR is an all-trans direct retinoic acid ester and therefore bypasses the conversion steps required by other retinoids. This ingredient immediately activates its action, making it more effective and less aggressive to the skin.
